Jakarta deploys security personnel at Ancol for New Year's Eve

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A total of 2,500 joint security personnel, comprising of police, military and the public order security agency have been deployed to secure the New Year's Eve celebration at the Ancol recreation park.

The "Taman Impian Jaya Ancol" recreation park, better known as Ancol is the largest and most popular one in Jakarta, which has a range of attractions, including Sea World.

The Chief of North Jakarta police precinct Senior Commissioner Susetio Cahyadi stated on Thursday that security had been combined in Ancol, including community organizations in a bid to support the police's work.

Meanwhile, the communications manager of PT Jaya Ancol, Rica Lestari estimated that the number of visitors to celebrate the New Year in the city would reach 200,000, with 10 thousand units of vehicles.

In addition, the Governor and Vice Governor of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama and Djarot Saiful Hidayat, respectively will attend the New Year's Eve celebrations in Ancol.

The theme for the New Year's party in Ancol is, "A Nite Sparkling Of Culture," a staff member of the Media Relations team at PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, Anisa Naamin added.
