REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Directorate of Narcotics, Criminal Investigation Police, seized 1.5 tons of marijuana, which were hidden in a truck.
"The marijuana is stored in 39 sacks, but it is camouflaged with 120 sacks of groceries in a truck," said Director of Narcotics, Criminal Investigation Police, Brig Anjan Pramuka Putra, Monday (28/12).
The police officers also arrested the suspect with initial YS (31 years old), on Wednesday (16/12), in the rest area inside Tol Merak, Banten. Anjan revealed, based on interrogation of suspects, the 1.5 tons of marijuana would be brought to Bandung, Purwakarta, and Garut.
He explained, YS was responsible for picking and storing the goods into the warehouse in West Java, and then it would be dispersed to various regions by the buyers.
"Evidence seized from the suspect would be worth Rp 6 billion, but this number does not mean anything compared to 40 thousand people that we saved through this arrest," said Anjan.
