REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The government has budgeted Rp 500 billion to renovate Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium as preparation for Asian Games, which would be held in Jakarta and Palembang in 2018.
"The funds of Rp 500 billion is only for seven locations in GBK, namely main stadium, aquatic, indoor tennis, Istora, archery field, and middle stadium," said Youth and Sports Minister, Imam Nahrawi, in Jakarta, Monday (28/12 ).
He stated, the renovation would be carried out by Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing. The current status of GBK was in the hands of Ministry of Secretariat of State, but the renovation budget was in the hands of Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Imam explained, Ministry of Youth and Sport's budget in 2016 was about Rp 3.3 trillion. It increased of Rp 268 billion compared to 2015.
"Now, we're waiting for Presidential instruction for 2018 Asian Games," he added.
