REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAYAPURA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his entourage were scheduled to celebrate new year eve in Raja Ampat, West Papua. This was a part of his working visit to two eastern provinces in Indonesia.
"The President will spend the new year eve in Waisai, Raja Ampat," said Military Commander XVII/Cenderawasih Maj Hinsa Siburian, in Jayapura, Papua, Friday (25/12).
According to him, Jokowi planned visit to Papua and West Papua in 29th to 31st December 2015 and was scheduled to visit some districts, such as Raja Ampat in West Papua and Jayawijaya and Merauke in Papua.
In Raja Ampat, Indonesia's seventh president planned to see the sunrise at the beginning of 2016 from Waisai, capital of Raja Ampat. Then in Wamena, Jayawijaya, Jokowi planned to inaugurate an agency building and construction of Wamena Airport. While in Merauke, Jokowi was scheduled to inaugurate 10 thousand hectares of farmland.
"In terms of security we will deploy a thousand personnel," he added.
