REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA -- A T50 Golden Eagle fighter of the Indonesian Air Force crashed in a plantation area, killing its pilot and co-pilot, while participating in an air show held at the Adisutjipto airport, Yogyakarta, Sunday.
Rescuers evacuated the bodies of the pilot and co-pilot in the plane crash site, which is not far from the airport, Wahyu Pristiawan, commander of the swift response team of the Yogyakarta Disaster Mitigation Office (BPBD), said.
"My team happened to be on standby there for the air show. The number of casualties has been confirmed two, namely the pilot and co-pilot," he said.
Following the accident, the authorities have decided to stop the air show, which had been held since Saturday.
