BI and Bandung City Government launch 'Bandung Smart Card'

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Bank Indonesia (BI) and Bandung City Government launched "Bandung Smart Card." It aimed to support smart city program and encourage national non-cash payment system in the City.

"Bandung Smart Card is part of realization of Bandung Smart City, where everything can be done more easily quickly and effectively, including the non-cash payment system," said Chief Representative of BI in West Java, Rosmaya Hadi, Monday (14/12).

The launch of Bandung Smart Card was conducted by Rosmaya Hadi, Mayor of Bandung Ridwan Kamil and a number of leaders of commercial banks in Bandung. Rosmaya Hadi said that Bandung Smart Card program was supported by Bank Mandiri, BNI, Mega, BCA, BRI and Telkom.

"Bandung has great potential as one of economic centers in West Java. It is reflected in inclusive financial indicators," Rosmaya continued.

Further, Rosmaya said Bandung Smart Card trials were done in parking machines, gates of Trans Metro Bandung, and Vending Machine. Bandung Smart Card was unification of various cards such as identity card, access card, payment card and electronic ticket in a single.

"Bandung Smart Card can help people to do various activities such as shopping, ticket purchases, and bill payments," he said.
