REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALU -- Lake Tambing ecotourism site is becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations among foreign visitors in Central Sulawesi due to its uniqueness and beauty found nowhere else.
"The tourists visit Lake Tambing and stay for a few days to enjoy the natural beauty of its flora and fauna," Head of the Lore Lindu National Park's office Sudaryatna stated here on Wednesday.
Besides exploring the natural forest, bird-watching is another activity that the tourists can enjoy at Lake Tambing.
The guests often extend their stay at this tourism destination as they want to enjoy these activities, he noted.
According to Sudaryatna, the tourists are happy to observe the different species of birds near Lake Tambing.

Moreover, there are several species of plants, and some are even endemic to the area around Lake Tambing, such as a large tree called Leda or a smaller unique carnivorous flower named "Kantong Semar" (Nepenthes) orchids.
He pointed out that there are different species of orchids and Nepenthes. Five of the 11 species of Nepenthes that exist in Indonesia are found here, and one of them is an endemic plant of the Lake Tambing ecotourism site.
"Until today, this has attracted several foreign tourists," Sudaryatna pointed out.
In this year, the Lore Lindu National Park has targeted to attract up to five thousand foreign and domestic tourists.
Until now, more than three thousand foreign and domestic tourists have visited the ecotourism site located at an altitude of 1.7 thousand meters above sea level.
The Lake Tambing ecotourism site is located 90 kilometers from Palu and can be reached within two hours by a motorcycle or car.
