REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR -- Chairman of Regional Tourism Promotion Agency of Bogor Regency (BPPD), Zainal Saprudin, stated Bogor Regency has became one of golf tourism destinations in the world. It was seen from the increase of tourist visits to the special interest.

"Currently, there are at least 11 international standard golf courses," he said, in Cibinong, Monday (1/12).

He revealed that Bogor was ready to become a major competitor of China in golf tourism destination. Previously, foreign tourist from Singapore, Malaysia, and other countries always visits China to look for golf tourism.

However, he added, along with an incentive promotion, the foreign tourists have started to come to Bogor Regency. Foreign tourists with a special interest in golf who came to Bogor reached more than 1,000 people in a month.

"After BPPD was formed, tourists with special interest in golf who come to Bogor reached 1,000 to 1,200 people per month," Zainal explained.

Meanwhile, Head of Department of Culture and Tourism of Bogor Regency, Surjana Rahmat, said the efforts of BPPD were clearly help to promote several tourism destination in Bogor.

"If the target of tourist arrivals to Bogor Regency is 6 million people, then its contribution will be very significant," he said.
