REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- In order to increase tourist arrivals to Indonesia, particularly from China, Garuda Indonesia officially launched flight route from Denpasar to Guangzhou. Director of Services of Garuda Indonesia, Nicodemus P. Lampe, said that Denpasar-Guangzhou route was part of strategy of network expansion of Garuda Indonesia, especially in Chinese market.
"China is a very important market for Garuda Indonesia and we will continue to develop our flight service to the country," said Nicodemus, in an official statement received by Republika.co.id, Monday (23/11).
With the operation of the flight route, Garuda currently has 24 time of flights to China each week. It consisted of Shanghai-Jakarta route (seven times), Beijing-Jakarta (four times), Beijing-Denpasar (three times), Guangzhou-Jakarta (seven times) and Denpasar-Guangzhou (three times).
"Garuda Indonesia is getting ready to continue work on Chinese market, where the number of Chinese tourists from January to August 2015 reached 489,233 people or increased by 25.56 percent, compared to the same period in 2014, which reached 389,627 people," Nicodemus explained.
In addition, Garuda Indonesia flight from China to Denpasar would also be connected to a variety of domestic routes in Indonesia, including Yogyakarta, Ujung Pandang, Manado, Labuan Bajo, and various other domestic tourist destinations.
Flight from Denpasar to Guangzhou (GA 896) has served three times per week, in Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. The departure from Denpasar is at 11:45 pm local time and arrival in Guangzhou is at 05:00 am local time.
