REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Indonesia held a 7th National Congress which took place on 23rd to 24th November 2015 in Bandung. The National Congress was held after five years of leadership of Kadin Indonesia 2010-2015 period.
Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Suryo Bambang Sulisto, said the purpose of the National Congress of Kadin was to resolve problems of organization and other important issues, especially the business climate. Moreover, the congress would also set Public Policy and Public Programs Organization as Outline Policies and National Organization Programs for the period of 2015 to 2020.
"This National Congress is also scheduled to elect new chairman of Kadin for 2015-2020, which will be conducted through electoral system," said Suryo, in Bandung, Monday (23/11).
There were two candidates who would compete in election of Chairman of Kadin, namely former Trade Minister Rachmat Gobel and owner of Recapital Group Rosan P Roeslani who currently serves as Vice Chairman of Banking and Finance of Kadin.
Both candidates would compete for a total of 132 votes, consisting of 30 associations and 102 votes from Kadin from all over Indonesia.
Suryo explained, the Kadin's National Congress was based on Act No.1 of 1987 on the Chamber of Commerce, in particular Article 10 and AD/ART Kadin. In this congress, there would be briefing and dialogue with government officials, to provide an objective perspective of the nation's economy.
"Therefore, Kadin's National Congress will be involving relevant sources such as member of State Cabinet, board of Chamber of Commerce, and business associations," Suryo added.
