REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Police Chief Inspector General Tito Karnavian said, a total of 384 Indonesian citizen had already joined the radical group, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
"Perhaps the number of citizens who leave is more than that," he said in Jakarta, Wednesday (18/11).
Tito invited all ambassador, including the French ambassador Corrine Breuze, to convey terrorist network issues related to acts of terror in Paris last weekend. He also revealed, Indonesian citizens who have returned to the country were 46 people, after being "fighters" in Syria.
The two-star Police General said that members of the police conducted intense monitoring of movement of those citizens who have returned to Indonesia.
"We have understood and still closely monitored the ISIS network," Tito added.
The former Head of Detachment 88 Anti-terror of Police acknowledged that terrorist network in Indonesia was widespread than before, based on analysis in the field. It was based on the analysis of the threat of terrorism, intensity, opportunity and ability of members of terrorist networks.
