2,000 mask distributed to avoid volcano ashes from Mt Barujari

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KARANGASEM -- Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Karangasem in Bali distributed about 2,000 masks. Karangasem was one of four districts in Bali which was affected by the eruption of Mount Barujari in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

"This is anticipation not to be affected by volcanic ashes from Mount Barujari. We appealed to the public of importance of using a mask," said Head of BPBD Karangasem, Ida Ketut Arimbawa, Thursday (5/11)

So far, the masks had been distributed to students, civil servants, and all residents. Besides Karangasem, BPBD Gianyar also distributed 700 masks and BPBD Bangli has distributed 150 masks.

BPBD Karangasem was currently working with military personnel, police, Public Health Service, and volunteers. Health service of Karangasem also disseminated the use of masks to several schools.

In addition to distribution of masks, BPBD also mounted posters "avoid ashes, use your mask." Until now, the status of Mount Barujari was still Alert Level II.
