Jakmania's secretary general named as suspect

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Secretary General of Jakmania (Persija fans club), Febrianto, was arrested by Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Directorate of Special Crime of Jakarta Police due to charges of being a provocateur at stone-throwing action done by Jakmania, on Sunday (18/10).

Now the 37-year-old man was officially named as suspect. Head of Public Relations of Jakarta Police, Sr. Pol Muhammad Iqbal, confirmed that police officers already have sufficient evidence related to the arrest of Febrianto.

"From the results of investigation, we have arrested F and the case was carefully examined by the Sub-Directorate of cyber crime. The evidence is sufficient. F was violating IET (Information and Electronic Transaction) Law and article 160 of Criminal Code on the spread of incitement that led to violence," he said, Tuesday (20/10).

Febrianto had previously claimed as a journalist of an online media. Iqbal explained that Febrianto was once worked as a journalist, but he was no longer a journalist.

"F was a former journalist," he added.

The suspect was spreading rumor that contained provocation through his personal Twitter account, @bung_febri, on 11th October 2015. He tweeted, "If you considered that there would be nothing in the President's Cup, you may follow your friend, Rangga, #tolakpersibmaindijakarta ".

Until now, evidences that have been seized were mobile phone, laptop, twitter account, facebook and email account, and a notebook.

"The investigation process is still ongoing, the officers will develop the case," he said.
