REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- The Police Detective and Criminal Department of West Java Provincial city of Bandung has named DS as a suspect in the case of fire that broke out in West Java High Public Prosecutor's Office building on Sunday afternoon.

"Now DS is a suspect in that case," public relations officer of Bandung city police precinct, Commissioner Renny Marthaliana, stated here on Monday, adding that DS had allegedly torched the High Public Prosecutor's Office as he nursed a grudge against the institution.

According to Renny, in 2012, DS had stabbed attorney Sistoyo following a court hearing at the Bandung District Court.

"Thus, as per the perpetrator's testimony, DS had purposely torched the High Public Prosecutor's Office building out of resentment against it," Renny disclosed.

Meanwhile, DS's lawyer Torkis Parlaungan Siregar claimed that his client committed the act as he was thoroughly disappointed by the West Java High Court's law enforcement, particularly in corruption related cases.

"Our client believed that many of the law enforcers, including prosecutors, were involved in corrupt practices. They must uphold the law instead of trampling it," Siregar pointed out.

The West Java High Public Prosecutor's Office had caught fire on Sunday afternoon though there were no casualties.

Firefighters tried to put out the blaze which razed the building on Jl. LLRE Martadinata in Bandung, he said.
