Basarnas to evacuate victims of Aviastar aircraft

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- National SAR Agency would evacuate the Aviastar aircraft with flight number MV 7503 that had been found in Latimojong Mountains, Pajaja Hill, Ulusalu Village, Luwu, South Sulawesi, at 17:00 pm. Head of Basarnas, Bambang Sulistyo, said the evacuation would be held on Tuesday (6/10) at around 06.00 am.

"Starting Tuesday morning we will conduct evacuation, as early as possible at 06.00 am," he said, Monday (5/10).

Bambang said that the obstacle encountered in evacuating the victims was the crash site that was located in a forest in the hills. He explained, the aircraft was found by a joint team based on the information from the local residents. The Twin Otter DHC6-300 aircraft was found partially destroyed and partially burned.

"We saw a match with the picture, then I called and reported it to the police chief of Luwu and finally confirmed it as the aircraft that lost contact," he said.

On 2nd October 2015 at 02:25 pm the aircraft took off from Andi Jemma Airport in Masamba. 11 minutes after take-off, the aircraft had lost contact from a watchtower Andi Jemma Airport.

There were seven passengers, consisting of four adults, one child, and two infants in the aircraft. The name of the victims were Nurul Fatimah, Lisa Falentin, Risa Arman, Sakhi Arqam, Muhammad Natsir, Afif (baby) and Raya (baby). The plane was piloted by Captain Iriafriadi, Co Pilot Yudishtira and technician Soekris Winarto.
