REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BIAK -- The Biak Numfor district in Papua province will host the Papua ethnic film festival in November 2015, according to the organizing committee spokesman Jefri Simanjuntak.
"The festival aims to highlight the cultural potential of indigenous Papuans in the national arena to support cultural and tourism programs in Papua," Simanjuntak emphasized here on Tuesday.
He noted that numerous prominent national artists have expressed their readiness to come to Papua to attend the ethnic film festival.
According to the spokesman, the district government has allocated funds to support the implementation of the festival.
"We hope the film festival would take place according to schedule and would receive the support of various components of the society in the land of Papua," Simanjuntak added.
