Indonesia conducts humanitarian mission through Qurban for Palestine program

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- National Committee for Palestinians (KNRP) successfully conducted humanitarian mission in Qurban for Palestine 1436 H program, in a span of 21st to 27th September 2015.

"Sacrificial animals which were derived from Indonesia, have been accepted by Palestinians in Gaza, Al-Quds, and Palestinian refugees in southern Turkey, Lebanon, and Jordan," said Director of Foreign Affairs Program and Distribution of KNRP, Suhartono, in a release, Friday (2/10).

Last year, KNRP chose Hayat Yolu or Thariqul Hayat, as distributor of sacrificial animals to Palestinians.

Symbolically, the delivery of sacrificial animals was held in several locations in Southern Turkey. At that location, there are Palestinian refugees displaced from refugee camps in Syria, such as Yarmouk, Idlib, Dar'a, and others.

"Symbolic delivery of sacrificial animals was held in ​​Gaziantep, Rayhanli, Kilis and Antakya, Southern Turkey. We also provided shopping vouchers to share happiness with children of Palestinian refugees during the Eid al-Adha. The rest of sacrificial animals were supplied to Gaza, Al-Quds and Lebanon also Jordan," he explained.

This year, KNRP managed to collect 66 cows and 20 goats, to fulfill about 45 thousand heads of sacrificial animals to Palestine, collected by Thariqul Hayat. Chairman of Thariqul Hayat, Muhammad Ehab Esawi, expressed gratitude to the people of Indonesia who have entrusted the sacrificial animals to be given to the Palestinians.
