Death toll of Indonesian victims in Mina rises to 57 people

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MECCA -- Victims of Mina incident from Indonesia increased by 11 people. Thus, Indonesian citizens who died because of the incident reached 57 people, consisting of 53 pilgrims and four workers in Saudi Arabia.

Secretary of Work Area of Mecca, Muhammad Noer Alya Fitra said the addition of victims was based on identification, which was done until Wednesday (30/7) at 02.00 local time.

"The number of victims who died in the previous data was 46 people, consisting of 42 pilgrims and four workers. Then it was increased to 57 people," he said, Wednesday (30/9).

Mostly victims came from fleet JKS 61 Jakarta-Bekasi embarkation, as many as eight people. The three other people were two pilgrims from Pontianak, fleet BTH 14 Batam embarkation, and one pilgrim from fleet UPG 10 Makassar embarkation.

"The three pilgrims were indeed crossed the road 204 towards the Jamarat on the day of the incident," he added.

He revealed, the eight victims from fleet JKS 61 were Lilis Suryani, Misbah Ijudin, Otong Bastaman Sutisnamiharja, Nana Hendiana Idi, Maemunah Dada Sasmita, Atang Gumawang Dede Herlan, Karmah Padma Kertaraja, Tuti Kuswati Daman, and Iis Masriah Kastoni Mardo.

Two victims from fleet BTH 14 were Ida Murtika Porie and Suryati Sahran Ribu. Lastly, a victim from fleet UPG 10 was Nur Alam Ilyas.

"Meanwhile, number of pilgrims who have come back to the lodgings were decrease from 89 people to 78 people," he said.

Nafit stated that the identification teams still continued to look for pilgrims who still have not returned to their lodgings. The team would soon give latest information to the family, relatives, and the entire people of Indonesia.
