Indonesia gains access to data forensics of Saudi Arabian team

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Director of Indonesian Citizen Protection, Lalu M. Ikbal, said that the Consulate General of Indonesia in Jeddah has gained access to data forensics from Forensic Team of Saudi Arabia to identify all data of victims of Mina incident. The aim was the Hajj Committee could soon release the data of the victims, especially those who have died.

"Thank God, the Forensic Team of Saudi Arabia has given access to look at the data of the victim," said Lalu, Tuesday (29/9).

After getting access to the entire data of the victims, Lalu expected the consular team could accelerate the verification data of victims, especially victims from Indonesia. This team has a capital base of knowledge and understanding of forensic science.

From Mecca, Ministry of Religious Affairs requested the Government of Saudi Arabia to facilitate access for medical teams. So that it could speed up the process of identification of Indonesian pilgrims who became victims of Mina.

"We have made a diplomatic note that the medical team and doctors from Indonesia could see the bodies of victims," said Minister of Religious Affairs, Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, Monday (29/9).

Until Monday (28/9) at 14.00 local time, the government of Saudi Arabia has announced 1,107 photographs of victims in Mina. 500 photographs were published Al Mu'ashim on 25th September, 350 photographs were published on 26th September, and 257 photographs were published on 27th September.

"Until this afternoon we received a report from the Hajj Committee that there are five containers of bodies which have not been published," he said.
