REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The first toll roads in Kalimantan, Balikpapan-Samarinda route, section V along 11 km of total 99.2 km were ready to be built.
Minister of Public Works and Housing, Basuki Hadimuljono, stated the parties involved in the project were the Beijing Urban Construction Group, Ltd. in cooperation with state-owned enterprises, namely PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk/WIKA and PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk/PP with contract value of Rp 848,55 billion.
"Section V along 11 km on KM 13 Balikpapan-Sepinggan, will be carried out with the state budget and fund lending from Chinese Government. It signed today, Wednesday (23/9)," said Basuki.
Basuki explained, the construction of toll roads of Balikpapan-Samarinda would be divided into five sections, including the Section I (Balikpapan-Samboja along 25 km), Section II (Samboja-Palaran I), Section III (Samboja-Palaran II), Section IV (Palaran-Jembatan Mahkota) and Section V (Balikpapan-Sepinggan along 11 km).
"Although we are still willing to settle the loan agreement, I immediately make preparations on the field, because after a month, the President will check the progress of the construction," he said.
The construction process would be divided into three tasks. Section V was the duty of the central government. Section I was the duty of local government, and Section II, III and IV which will be offered to investors.
The construction of the section V would be completed within 730 working days or two years. In addition to the construction of the toll roads, the Government through the Ministry of Public Works and Housing would also build Sungai Manggar bridge along 613 meters from the state budget.
"This bridge is part of the toll road section I of Balikpapan-Samarinda ie Balikpapan-Semboja and will be built by WIKA with a contract value Rp 271,83 billion from the State Budget 2015 to 2017," said Basuki.
