BNN investigator arrested for drug trafficking

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- An investigator of National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Iptu AM (33 years old) was caught by Tangerang City Police for trafficking of methamphetamine in Tangerang. Head of Public Relations of BNN, Slamet Pribadi, had confirmed the report.

It began when the Tangerang City Police arrested two drugs dealers. According to the two suspects, they got the drugs AM, an investigator at BNN. The police then executed AM at his home in Bogor, Friday (18/9).

"Yes it is true, we have got the report. We are conducted the investigation of this case," said Slamet, via text message to Republika, Tuesday (22/9).

However, Slamet had not been able to ascertain the position of AM in the drug trafficking network. He also could not yet ensure whether AM was positive for drugs and were awaiting the results of urine tests.

Slamet said BNN would crack down on employees who are found to circulate or even consume drugs.
