REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A law maker of the Commission III Masinton Pasaribu reported Richard Joost Lino, the president Director of port operator PT Pelindo II to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) accusing the boss of the state company of giving a gift to Minister of State Enterprises Rino Soemarno.

"I want to give clarification about alleged gift from the president director of Pelindo to Minister of State Enterprises in the form of goods. The goods are in the form of furniture. The documents are complete here," Masinto said at the KPK office here on Tuesday.

He said the gift is valued at around Rp200 million without saying the purpose of giving the the gift.

"I do not know what the purpose of giving the gift . What is clear is that the law forbids state officials or civil servants to give or accept gifts . Here it is clear the giver was the president director of Pelindo II and the recipient is the minister of state enterprises," Masinton said.

He said the case took place in March 2015 and at that time until now the president director of Pelindo is RJ Lino and the minister of state enterprises is Rini Sumartni.

At the same time the members of the Trade Union of the Jakarta International Container (JICT) staged a demonstration in front of KPK to report alleged corruption in the process of extension of the JICT contract between Pelindo II and Hutchinson Port Holding (HPH).

"(We) report indication of irregularities in the process of extension of JICT contract. It was not in line with the law. The Law No. 17 of 2008 says the concession is made with the approval of the Communications Ministry via the port authority," the chairman of the trade union Nofa Sofyan said.

He said JICT is worth US$854 million and HPH paid only US$215 million for its share . That should make it a 21 percent shareholder, not 49 percent as has been proposed by RJ Lino.

Nova also accused RJ Lino of accepting gift in souvenir worth Rp50 million from the Managing Director of Hutchison Canning Fok in Hong Kong on June 25 , 2015.

KPK has not started investigation of the alleged corruption, deputy chairman of KPK Johan Budi said.

Johan Budi said the case reported to KPK is not the same as the case involving Pelindo II being investigated by police.

Police has raided the office of the president director of Pelindo II over alleged corruption in the procurement of a number of mobile cranes valued at Rp45 billion.
