REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PARIGI -- Local community of Parigi Muotong District have welcome the implementation of Sail Tomini 2015 because it helps boost their economy.
"Sail Tomini is good event to promote this region. We hope the economy in Parigi would be better with the coming of investment," Liong Frans, owner of Grand Mitra hotel and restaurant, said, here, Tuesday.
Local businessmen will give their best services to clients in order to support the government's effort to develop the district's economy, he sated.
Merlin S Andi, owner of Lebo Beach Hotel and Cafe, also expressed his optimism over the district's economy thanks to Sail Tomini international maritime event.
"It's very obvious that the community economy moves faster in Parigi Muotong. We hope this could be maintain sustainably by empowering the indigenous people," he stated.
The peak ceremony of Sail Tomini, launched in May this year, is scheduled to be held in Parigi Moutong District on September 19.
The event is expected to boost tourism in Indonesia's eastern region.
"Tomini Bay is being developed as the main maritime tourism destination," Coordinating Minister for Culture and Human Resource Development Puan Maharani stated during the launch of the sailing event in May.
