REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Youth and Sports, Imam Nahrawi, ensured a team of FIFA and AFC will visit Jakarta in the near future to determine the development of football in Indonesia.

"There will be a team of FIFA and AFC to Jakarta to learn more about the development of out football. That was the results of my decision with the President of the Olympic Committee of Asia (OCA) Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah," said Imam, in Jakarta, Wednesday (16/9).

Imam met Sheikh Ahmad Al-Sabah who was a member of FIFA Executive Committee in the "general assembly" in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, in order to discuss the progress report of Indonesia readiness of 2018 Asian Games.

The same statement had been stated by the Ministry in August, but FIFA rejected the claim that they would visit Jakarta in October to lift sanctions given to Indonesia for government intervention in national football.

FIFA also confirmed that the sanctions will continue until the Indonesian government respect the principle of the autonomy of sports organizations.
