REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Governor of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), ensured to stop a single rail-based mass transit monorail project undertaken by PT Jakarta Monorail.
"There was no more negotiation with PT Jakarta Monorail. It means, the construction of the monorail would not be continued," he said, in Jakarta, Thursday (10/9).
Ahok claimed to have corresponded with PT Jakarta Monorail, related to the termination of the project development of mass transportation.
"The project had to be stopped because there were several requirements requested by the government, but was not able to be fulfilled by the company (Jakarta Monorail). We had also sent a letter regarding the policy," Ahok added.
He said, there were about 15 conditions that can not be fulfilled by PT Jakarta Monorail, including the clarity of the business plan, bank guarantee for five percent of the total investment of the monorail, and the transfer of depot construction of Setia Budi and Tanah Abang reservoirs.
"Because the Jakarta Monorail was not able to meet these requirements, the construction of the monorail project had to be stopped," he explained.
