REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- One of candidates for the leadership of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has been named as suspect by the Criminal Investigation Police (Bareskrim).
"I have to say, there was already one (suspect) and I already told KPK selection committee," said Head of Criminal Investigation Police, Budi Waseso, Friday (28/8).
He also confirmed that the criminal investigation has been investigating the case that is involving the candidate. However, he was reluctant to say the name of the candidate because it is still considered as secret.
Nevertheless, he said that police did not criminalized KPK, because he had handed over all track records and necessary recommendations of all 48 candidates, to KPK selection committee.
“If the suspect passes the selection process, we can later follow up the case, because we already sent all complete data about the candidates,” he explained.
