REPUBLIKA.CO.ID,BATAM -- Tender would be held next year for a toll road project in Batam to link Batuampar port, Mukakuning Industrial Estate and the International Airport of Hang Nadim.
"The tended is to be held in 2016. Currently the design is being reviewed because of a change in the plan with the inclusion of the construction of two flyover previously were to be built separately," head of the BP Batam's Communication Planning Yudi Cahyono said here recently.
Yudi said the budget for the flyovers at the cross roads of Kabil and Jam, which are the busiest cross roads on the island was already set for 2015 by the public works ministry.
However as the planned flyovers would be part of the toll road to be built by the ministry , the review is needed, he said.
"Both are central government's projects , therefore, it would be more effective if they are built at once," he added.
Based on the initial plan, construction of the toll road would cost around Rp7 trillion, and the flyovers around Rp100 billion.
"We are still awaiting the final report about the total budget for the project," he said.
Earlier BP Batam said Chinese and Malaysian investors were keen on building a number of infrastructure projects in Batam including toll road.
The foreign investors also offered to build monorail and ports with cost of up to Rp25 trillion, BP Batam said.
"Head of BP Batam Mustofa Widjaja wanted construction of the toll road to be accelerated to facilitate transports of goods to and from the industrial estates in Batam to ports ," Yudi said.
