REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA –- PT Hutama Karya Tbk (HK) as a State-Owned Enterprise who constructs the Trans Sumatra toll roads, stated that the Medan-Binjai toll road project will be completed by the end of 2016. It could be estimated if the land acquisition could be finished soon.
"At first I said to Mr. President that the construction will be in two years, but by seeing the progress, we are targeting the toll road finished by the end of 2016," said Director of HK, I Gusti Ngurah Putra, in Jakarta, Thursday (13/8).
He said that the only problem was the land acquisition. While the funding of the construction of the toll road was fine.
HK got a loan from PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero), about Rp 481 billion. For the construction itself, HK was supported by new heavy equipment that can speed up the process.
“Currently, the Medan-Binjai toll road construction is in a progress. Even the stakes have been installed. We wished that this toll road can be used in 2017,” he explained.
Medan-Binjai toll road was the first toll road of four toll roads to be build. In Trans Sumatra toll roads, there are Palembang-Simpang Indralaya toll road, Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar toll road and Pekanbaru-Dumai toll road.
