REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MALANG –- KH Hasyim Muzadi refused the results of 33rd congress of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) in Jombang, East Java. He thought that the election of KH Said Aqil Sirajd as Chairman Tanfidziyah and KH Maruf Amin as Rais Aam NU Syuriah was invalid.
"I can accept the concept of the congress, but I refuse the leaders chosen in the congress,” he said, in Malang, Thursday (6/8).
Hasyim said that the congress of NU in Jombang was out of the rules. The congress did not follow some rules, such as the minimal number of votes.
According to him, the election of the Tanfidziyah held when he and KH Sholahudin gathered all NU brances in Indonesia. All branches supposed to have 508 votes.
They said that the election did not reach the minimal number of votes, because some voters were in Tebuireng. “It can be checked that in Tebuireng, there were 401 voters,” he added.
