REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DEPOK -- Qur'an Reading Contest, the "MTQ XIV National Students 2015" has served a relationship area of inter students of many high learning institutes in the country, a rector has stated.
"As a host and organizer of this year's biggest Qur'anic event, University of Indonesia (UI) is expected to serve as bridge which connects and unites the students of different national universities with good morals that will create a prosperous society," rector of University of Indonesia Muhammad Anis remarked here on Sunday.
The MTQ which was participated in by a total of 1,863 students of 167 universities in Indonesia was opened by UI rector Muhammad Anis on Saturday night.
The participating universities in the Qur'an Reading Contest including UI, Bandung Institute of Technology, Gadjah Mada University, Syiah Kuala University, Tadulako University and Papua State University.
There are 13 types of competition during the MTQ which is held from August 1 to 8, among others the debate over the knowledge of Qur'an in English and the computer-based Qur'an application design.
