REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SEMANGGI -- Director of the Special Criminal Investigation, Commissioner Police Mudjiono said he will explore other 18 ministries that intersect with the alleged bribery case of containers unloading. The 18 ministries were presumably aware of and involved in the flow of bribe funds of one-stop unloading the containers.
"We will more explore the relevant ministries. Because, it was the one-stop service. From the ministry we also will more explore the involvement of other suspects," said Mudjiono when met at Polda Metro Jaya, on Thursday, July 30.
Mudjiono said, this case though led by the Trade Ministry, but also was involving other ministries such as Customs, the Health Ministry, Industry Ministry, and other ministries. However, it will still be explored again how far the involvement of other ministries in this case.
Previously, police had set three people suspected of bribery cases related to loading and unloading the containers. Two suspects have been detained at Polda Metro Jaya. Two people, among others, MU as a freelance employee of the Trade Ministry and ME as external parties who worked as brokers to facilitate permit outgoing goods.
While the other suspects, ‘I’ served as Sub-directorate Head (Kasubdit) of Foreign Trade, Trade Ministry was still located abroad. In addition to setting the three suspects, the police have also been checking around nine witnesses related to the case.
One of the witnesses who were currently being examined by the police was Partogi Pangaribuan as Director General of Foreign Trade. He examined related to the money of 42 thousand US dollars (Rp 565.5 million) and 4 thousand US dollars (Rp 39.4 million).
The money was found by police in one of the rooms in his directorate. One staff with initials R, said the money was not his but belongs to Partogi. The information from R was also included in the statements of witnesses and in the BAP.
Mudjiono could not comment related to Partigo examination. However, the involvement of other suspects could occur. Therefore, the police still explored the officials and people from other ministries related to this case.
"We can develop it from the statements of witnesses. There is involvement of other officials or departments will more explore from the information of witnesses," said Mudjiono.
