Indonesia and Singapore agree on e-Government cooperation

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SINGAPORE -- Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry of Indonesia and Ministry for Communications and Information of Singapore agreed on cooperation in the field of E-Government. It was done by Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi while in Singapore, on Tuesday, July 28.

Minister Yuddy said, this MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) was an important milestone in the friendship relations between the two countries.

"The Government of Indonesia and Singapore mutually realize the benefits and importance of cooperation between the two countries," said Yuddy via press release on Tuesday, July 28.

Especially, he added, about the matters related to the reform of the bureaucracy. In this case, he added, one of them on the field of e-government. Yuddy explained, these two countries have the opportunity to share knowledge to improve practical cooperation in the field of e-government. Especially, he said, in order to improve governance.

With this partnership, Yuddy believed this will have a major impact on improving insight. Then, he said, it would also affect perspective in building the government's innovation based on information and technology. So, he added, governance and the success of the agenda of reform and bureaucracy would lead to future improvements.

Minister Yuddy hoped this MoU did not only gives knowledge, but also provide a great opportunity to share experiences. Then, he asserted, the two countries could be equally shared infrormasi on policy issues in the development of e-government.

As is known, signatories to this MoU was a follow up of the visit of the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister to Singapore on January 25 to 27, 2015. For information, e-government Singapore based on United Nations Survey 2014 was the third best in the world. The use of e-government of Singapore has increased productivity and accelerate the process of various public services.
