REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Deputy Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat said he did not mind Jakarta invaded by migrants who want to try their fortune. The requisite, migrants must have a place to stay during the search for employment in Jakarta.

It has become a tradition, after Eid the urbanization flow was strongly flowing to Jakarta. Usually the migrants invited by relatives or acquaintances to try their fortune in Jakarta. However, if migrants did not have jobs, they have not been able to create a national identity card (KTP) of Jakarta.

The newcomers could get a Jakarta identity card if they already have a steady job or go rent houses or contracts. "I don’t mind, the importants is they have places to live," he said.

Concerning the data collection of urbanization, Djarot explained that the authorized officer will immediately go to the field, after the peak of homecoming. He said the data collection of urbanization will continuously performed by a number of devices, such as pillar of neighborhoods (RT), pillar of citizens (RW), village until official residence, not only after Eid.

About the data collection process, Djarot explained that residents will do the data collection, whether they came to Jakarta alone or bring friends and relatives. It will be recorded also the objectives of those who came to Jakarta after Eid, whether they were intending to come to work, school or just transit in Jakarta. "This data must be complete and accurate," he explained.

Djarot added that those who came to Jakarta were very varied and heterogeneous, and there were who has a job that was not constantly in Jakarta, so, could not be seen from one side only. However, Djarot explicitly rejected those who came looking for a job in Jakarta, but did not have a place to stay. Jokingly, Djarot was questioning their place to sleep if they did not have places to stay. "If they were homeless, where they will sleep? Bring tents, it’s not possible," he concluded.
