Anti-Narcotics Agency arrests two meth smugglers

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The National Anti-Narcotics Agency (BNN) has arrested two suspects, identified by their initials as HS and W, who is a woman, for trying to smuggle 2.2 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from Malaysia on July 2.

"Both of them were caught smuggling 2,221.2 grams of methamphetamine from Malaysia to Jakarta," Public Relations Head of the BNN Senior Commissioner Slamet Pribadi said here on Tuesday.

HS, a citizen of Sukawahyu, Cimahi, West Java, had the crystal meth affixed on his hips in a body wrap. He was supposed to give the consignment to W in Jakarta.

W, who is a citizen of Mangga Besar, Taman Sari, West Jakarta, was supposed to deliver the meth in a silver case to an apartment in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

"When she arrived at the apartment, the officers arrested her. HS was arrested the same day in Bandung region of West Java," Pribadi remarked.

W has claimed that the meth was to be given to a man known by his initials as S. He is a citizen of Alalak Utara, Banjarmasin region, South Kalimantan.

Following this, the officers immediately arrested S close to the location where they caught W.

BNN seized three packets containing 2.53 grams of methamphetamine and Rp98.7 million in cash, which was allegedly earned from the trade of drugs.

HS is a convection entrepreneur responsible for three narcotics deals from Malaysia to Jakarta. They were carried out in cooperation with W.

W is a singer at a pub who has smuggled crystal meth from Malaysia several times. They claimed to get Rp15 million per delivery.

Moreover, BNN officers are trying to nab a Malaysian fugitive involved in the case.
