REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Telecommunications operator Indosat of the Ooredoo Group, said it is set to operate the networks with the latest telecommunication technology of 4G-LTE (Long Term Evolution) all over Indonesia.
A company executive Fuad Fachroeddin said here, Sunday, he hoped the Indonesian people could enjoy the convenience of the technology.
The technology would be used in various types of telecommunication service provided by Indosat, the country's second largest telecommunications operator, Fuad said.
"It is our commitment in program of network modernization nationally that all our networks would be based on 4G-LTE , which is superior in speed in data download of 185 Mbps and upload of 41 Mbps -- the fastest so far in Indonesia," he said.
He said the modernization program that gives wider coverage, higher speed and greater stability in data access and clearer voice calls with high definition (HD) voice feature.
So far the process of modernization of networks has covered 42 big cities and surrounding districts or about 200 districts/municipal cities, all over Indonesia, he said.
"We have introduced the technology of 4G-LTE through Indosat Super 4G-LTE service in Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta and Bali since April, 2015 . Other cities will follow until 2016. Our commitment is to introduce 4G-LTE all over Indonesia to for the convenience of our subscribers," he said.
Subscribers could use the services in various activities such as browsing, chatting, communicating, data downloading/uploading and photographing , content streaming and playing game faster and more efficient.
