Komnas PA to explore Margriet's motive on Engeline's murder case

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of the National Commission for Child Protection (Komnas PA), Arist Merdeka Sirait said that Komnas PA will help escort the proving motive of Engeline's murder. Until now, Komnas PA have not seen any clear motive behind the murder of eight-year-old girl.

"We will continue to oversee the completion of this case, particularly for proving the motive of Engeline's murder. We will explore why a foster mother who was willing to nurture and care Engeline, became a suspect killer, "said Arist when contacted by ROL, on Tuesday, June 30.

About the connection between the inheritance of Engeline's murder, Arist was reluctant to respond. According to him, it was too early to declare certain alleged points as the main motive of Engeline's murder.

He simply explained, since the beginning of escorting this case, a number of irregularities has been successfully demonstrated. Irregularities in the form of covered information, the pungent smell from Engeline's foster family's house and unwillingness of Engeline's foster mother to be helped.

"All the information and clue evidence from the first oversee this case we wil collect it to help uncover a motive for Engeline's murder. We still have a reliable data source to help the completion of this case,"he added.

As is known, Bali Regional Police finally has set Engeline's foster mother, Margriet Christina Megawe as the main suspect of homicide her adopted daughter. The determination was at once shifted the status of the previous murderer, Agustinus Tai Hamdamai. Now, Agus designated as an aide perpetrator in the case.
