REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- General Treasurer of Central Executive (PP) Muhammadiyah, Anwar Abbas asserted that the LGBT (Lesbian-Gay-Biseksual- Transsexual) is not human rights. It is a disease. This disease could be cured with the determination and willingness of the person concerned.

"This is a deviation of religious teachings or nature laws. The State must help steer their sexual orientation in order to return to sunatullah, " said Anwar Abbas to ROL on Sunday, June 28.

Anwar added, human might be defying the nature laws. For example, people will feel hungry after so many hours of not eating. Human can choose not to eat, but the consequences, they will be sick. So do nature laws, he said.

In order not to be sick, he added, people should know the nature laws. Men can only build a family with women. He cannot be with his fellow men. If the deviation from the nature laws is allowed, there will be punishment from God.

The Islamic observers added that people who did not do anything could be affected by such deviations, whether in the form of infectious disease, or damage on social order, and so on. That lesson has been conveyed by the Qur'an in the story of Lut.

According to him, if there were people who behave like that, the state must come down to accompany them. LGBT can be cured with determination and efforts. Anwar also mentioned several figures who had recovered from these irregularities.

"Gay is disease. Therefore do not tolerated it. It has to be treated. Instead of legalizing their desire, we are trying to direct their sexual orientation," said Anwar Abbas.
