REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of Regional Representative Council (DPD) Irman Gusman did not mind if the aspirations funds were given to Parliament. However, he hoped that the distribution formula should be done precisely.

According to him, the distribution of aspirations funds should take into consideration the developments in the regions. "Especially in Eastern Indonesia (KTI)," he said after breaking the fast along with the President at President's official residence in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Wednesday, June 24.

Therefore, he hoped that the allocation of aspiration funds was not based on the number of members. Such action could generate a gap because the budget was not distributed evenly.

If it was awarded based on the number of members of Parliament, the KTI would obtain much smaller budget than Java. Whereas, growth in KTI absolutely necessary for equitable development.

"It should be divided equally in each province," said Irman. However, in order to avoid misuse, members of Parliament in the constituency (dapil) of province, should do a good supervision. It was necessary to reduce the incidence of suspicion from the public.
