REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla got an invitation to breaking of fast meals (iftar) from chairman of the Golkar Party of Bali's congress, Aburizal Bakrie or Ical, on Sunday afternoon, June 21. JK was also senior of Golkar politician claimed to have received invitations to joint breaking of fast meals as good friends of Ical.
"Yes, we are invited to breaking of fast meals. Pak Ical whom invited. Ical is my good friend," said Kalla at his residence in Menteng, on Sunday night, June 21.
Nevertheless, JK said, in an event held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, was not discussed reconciliation of the Golkar Party. The breaking of fast meals event, he was called it as a moment to meet up with friends in the holy month of Ramadan this.
"No, there was no (discussion of Golkar). We just breaking of fast meals, evening prayers, and met all my friends as well, Mr. Prabowo, everyone, Amin Rais," he said.
Kalla was optimistic both sides of Golkar which was still in conflict will soon find common ground and reconciliation. This, he said, it was vital that the Golkar Party cadres could participated in simultaneous local elections held at the end of this year.
"Still in the process, I believe inshaAllah in time will finish. The most important of all that they realize that Golkar cadres must follow the elections. One way to participate in election it must be united," added Kalla. C37
