REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SINGAPORE -- The Indonesian waterskiing and wakeboarding team is optimistic about becoming the overall champions of the event, having won three gold medals in three events of the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games on Saturday.

"We are optimistic about becoming the overall champions, although the number of gold medals will not be as many as that won in the 2011 SEA Games," Team Manager Danny Boestami said.

He added that the Indonesian team expects to secure one more gold medal from the men's overall team competition to be held at Bedok Dam on Sunday.

"The men's and women's overall teams have always faced stiff competition from the Malaysian teams. But we hope the men's team wins a gold medal," he remarked.

Boestami further noted that the Indonesian team did not field Endhar Pupul Giritiya and Fajar Eka Samudra due to their injuries.

The squad won one gold medal and three silver medals in the waterskiing and wakeboarding events on Friday.

While, Febrianto won the first gold in waterskiing in the men's trick event with 4280 points, Dimas Ridho Suprihono won the silver medal in the competition with 4130 points.

The other two gold medals came from athletes Galuh Maulidinina in the women's wakeboarding event and Nur Ali Prambowo in the women's trick event.
