REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TANGERANG -- Immigration office of Soekarno-Hatta Airport will not tighten the entry of South Korean citizens to Indonesia. It was following a rise of deaths from MERS in the country.

"We will not make difficult for them to enter [Indonesia]," said the head of the immigration office at Soekarno-Hatta, Sutrisno told ROL on Wednesday, June 10.

Sutrisno explained, the banning of a foreigner to enter Indonesia was not in immigration authority. He said, it was left entirely to the Port Health Office (KKP).

"We can only check documents. If KKP told they cannot get in because of health problems, surely they will not get in," said Sutrisno.

Sutrisno explained, when there were foreigners entering Indonesia, KKP has the authority to examine the health of the travelers. If they passed, he said, then immigration could check documents such foreigners.

As is known, in South Korea already there were 13 new cases related to MERS. Based on data collected, a number of 108 people have been positively infected by MERS.

Related to the anticipation of the entry of MERS to Indonesia through the airport, the Port Health Office at Soekarno-Hatta was tough to be asked. However, the Senior General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura II, Zulfahmi said that the MERS anticipatory measures will be discussed on Thursday tomorrow.

"Tomorrow, June 11, we will meet to coordinate with Airport Authority,"said Zulfahmi.
