REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has emphasized on improving the quality of national products to ensure a widespread increase in the number of users.
"In order to boost our economic growth, emphasis should be laid on improving the production quality and should be backed by our strong industry, as the added value lies in the production and development of the domestic industry," the president stated while opening a limited meeting at his office on Tuesday.
The head of state noted that besides increasing the production of national products, their quality must also be improved.
"We hope that our economic growth will further improve with even better quality," the president remarked.
Jokowi stated that by ensuring even better quality, the national products can be used in various development projects.
"I have seen that a lot of projects can be implemented by using domestic products, but in practice, they widely use imported products. Consequently, the industry and factories that should have produced 90 to 100 percent, only manufacture 40 to 60 percent of their capacity," Jokowi pointed out.
Therefore, he affirmed that the government will encourage the use of national products and improvement in their quality.
