REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Selection Committee Team (Pansel) of leader’s candidates of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) came to KPK office in Jalan Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, on Tuesday afternoon, June 9.
Chairman of selection committee team, Destry Damayanti explained that this visit as a form of cooperation to encompass the names of KPK’s leaders candidates with a clean track record.
"We invited them to cooperate, and then if there is a short list (name lists of KPK’s candidate’s registrants) we may need assistance from KPK to search candidate’s track records," said Destry Damayanti when contacted by ROL, on Tuesday, June 9.
During the meeting, Destry said they also asked the opinion of a number of caretakers of the anti-corruption agency. By doing so, it is expected there is a similar perception regarding the expectations and challenges that will be undertaken by KPK in the future.
"We wanted to know, about what kind of leadership that matches the challenges faced by KPK. Also, KPK’s focus in the future as what would be seen from the eyes of the current leadership," Destry explained.
According to Destry, one of the discussion points, that KPK relationship with other law enforcement agencies must continue to be maintained and improved. Destry affirmed the rule of law and fighting corruption could not be done just by KPK. So, the candidates of KPK leaders is expected will also focus on it.
