'Foreign countries steal Indonesia's natural sources'

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The national figure Ahmad Syafii Maarif reminded government to begin to manage their own natural resources potential to achieve state and national sovereignty in the energy sector.

According to him, Indonesia has been facing an energy crisis, so if not be careful in every management, it will be able to jeopardize the life of the nation.

"Our wealth has gotten to the point on yellow light," he told ROL on Wednesday, June 3.

The former Muhammadiyah chairman explained foreign countries were already stole Indonesia's energy resources since a long time. Therefore, the current government must be firm in regulating energy. "Because life and death of our nation depends on how wisely and rightly politics to this," said the man who is familiarly called Buya.

He revealed that there were many persons who play adventurously in the oil and gas sector, mining, and other natural resources sectors. It made this nation has been stumbling in the welfare of its people. "The person is the nation person that was lack moral and physic."

Bunya added, the burglars of Indonesia's natural resources came from foreign nations and domestic agents. Domestic agents, he said, were the Indonesian people themselves whom were not having mental of fighters. Their mentalities were pragmatic and no longer have the vision and mission of Indonesia, nationality, and justice.

"If there is no action from the government, to eradicate foreigner and unscrupulous person of nation, Indonesia’s future will be dark," Buya said.
