REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla was reviewing complex Mako Paspampres in Jalan Tanah Abang II, Jakarta. In his review, the Vice President took notice the supplies of military support equipment and training members of the TNI.

"I want to understand that the equipment is available, the equipment should fit the technology which evolves in the world. Certainly, the facilities must be adequate for the military because they must work 24-hour alert, they need physical exercise and training," said JK while giving a speech in Mako Paspampres, Jakarta, on Friday, May 29.

Furthermore, he hoped the Paspampres (Presidential Security Forces) soldiers could carry out well their duties to escort the President and Vice President. However, the Vice President was also aware that Paspampres’s duties were very heavy.

"Their job needs strenuous efforts," he said.

JK assessed that Paspampres is Vice President’s family members. Therefore, in accordance with the mandate of the law, Paspampres provides security to the President and Vice President. JK also expressed his gratitude to the Paspampres which always escort him.

"InsyaAllah, based on the law I will be lifetime with you all (Paspampres). You are my family," he added.

According to him, the current Paspampres is not far behind from the security forces in developed countries. Therefore, he entrusted his security on Paspampres forces.
