REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SUKABUMI -- At least three drum band players died and 49 others sustained injuries when the truck carrying them overturned in Lembursawah village, Sukabumi district, on Monday (25/5).
"All the victims have been taken to Palabuhanratu General Hospital," Chief of the Cikadang Police Office Adjunct Commissioner Maryadi said here on Monday.
According to the police, a truck of the Toyota Dyna variety was carrying an entourage of 59 drum band players, teenagers part of the Al-Islah mosque. They were headed to Diniah Al-Barokah Elementary School in Cikidang.
However, when the truck was passing through the Lebakwangi corner in Cijambe village, Cikidang district, it overturned.
While three died on the spot, several others were injured.
The local traffic police is still investigating the case.
