REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, ISTANBUL -- About 2,500 Turkish workers of Renault continued on Saturday their strike for the third day in a row to demand higher wages.

The strike is taking place in Bursa, about 220 km southeast of Istanbul, where the factory is located.

Some of the workers are waiting in front of the plant, while some others are staging demonstrations inside the car-maker's courtyard.

The plant management decided to suspend the production until Monday, according to a report by Dogan News Agency.

According to the Turk Metal Union, 2,500 of its members working at Renault have resigned.

The strike caused the company losses estimated at 1,200 cars during the last 24 hours.
