Indonesian export on April 2015 declines 8.46 percent

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that Indonesia's export value in April 2015 reached 13.08 billion USD, decreased by 4.04 percent. If compared with April last year, export decreased by 8.46 percent.

"The decline was due to seasonal differences, and global oil prices are still down," said Deputy Distribution and Services of BPS, Sasmito Hadi Wibowo, in Jakarta, on Friday, May 15.

Decline in export on April 2015 due to declining non-oil exports amounted to 0.17 percent, from 11.64 million USD to 11.62 million USD. Meanwhile, oil and gas exports also decreased due to declining crude oil amounted to 39.66 percent to 466.5 million USD.

Meanwhile, gas export fell by 23.40 percent to 786.9 million USD and exports of oil products rose 8.61 percent to 204.8 million USD. Sasmito said, the volume of oil and gas exports on April 2015 to March 2015 for crude oil fell by 7.75 percent and gas fell by 6.59 percent.

"The largest decline in non-oil exports from April 2015 to March 2015 occurred in mineral fuels amounted to 199.3 million USD,"said Sasmito.

Other commodities which experienced a decline in exports were iron ore, crust, and metal ash amounted to 115.3 million USD. In addition, machinery and electrical equipment also declined by 28.5 million USD and jewellery or gems fell by 60.8 million USD.
