REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDA ACEH -- Exhibitions and cultural arts performances Sabang Fair Festival (FSF) 2015 was ready to be held in the third week in June. Sabang city government as the organizer of the event said it has invited the participation of a number of countries.

Head of Culture and Tourism of Sabang Zulfi Purnawati said the invited countries are Thailand and Malaysia.

"In addition, the City of Sabang also invited several states in Malaysia, such as Selangor and Penang, while Thailand and Malaysia were invited directly by Sabang Authority (BPKS)," said Zulfi Purnawati.

In addition to the two neighboring countries, she said, the Government of Sabang city government has also invited 23 cities and regencies in the province of Aceh to participate on Sabang Festival Fair 2015.

BPKS or Sabang Zone Concession Agency, she said, will support the implementation of these activities by providing tents for booth exhibitors for districts/cities that do not have complex platforms in Sabang Fair.

Sabang Festival Fair is an annual event held by the City of Sabang. The 2015 festival is coincided with the golden anniversary (50th) of Sabang city.

In that event, the festival will be exhibited local products, such as souvenirs from various regions in the province of Aceh as well as the information about tourism potential in the province of the western tip of Indonesia.

"Implementation of Sabang Fair Festival is also an effort to increase the attraction of tourists, both domestic and foreign tourists that visit Weh Sabang Island," he said.

Besides the exhibition, he said, Sabang Festival Fair is also coupled with a variety of art and cultural performances Aceh, such as ethnic music, dance, comedy Aceh and so forth.

"Sabang Festival Fair will give a positive value for Aceh and Indonesia tourism in general. Moreover, Sabang has become a main tourist destination," said Zulfi Purnawati.
