REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAMBI -- Taekyung, a South Korean company, has expressed interest to invest in Samudera Ujung Jabung seaport, Jambi, which is now under construction, Chief Executive Officer of Taekyung Kim Taekyung stated here, Wednesday (22/4).
"We have met Governor of Jambi Hasan Basri Agus to discuss about the plan and also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU)," Taekyung revealed here on Wednesday.
He remarked that the MoU is related to infrastructure development in the industrial area located in Ujung Jabung seaport, Jambi.
Taekyung stated that the investment is valued at about Rp10 billion, or US$773.8 million.
Currently, the company is exploring areas of potential in Ujung Jabung before the investment cooperation is realized.
"We are conducting a research and preparing a feasibility study," Taekyung remarked.
He noted that the cooperation between the administration of Jambi province and the company will be realized through a memorandum of agreement (MoA) that will be inked by the end of June or early August.
Governor Hasan Basri Agus hoped that the Korean company could realize the investment plan for the seaport at the earliest.
